While I was at the tennis tournament in July, I wandered into the big shopping tent. Nothing caught my attention – except a very marked down book near the cash registers I noticed as I was walking out the door. So next time I was in there – to escape from the heat and humidity at the venue – I bought it. And started to read it that evening, since it was a tennis mystery thriller.
I’m still not sure why I finished. The writing simply is not the best, much of it strictly to formula. But the setting was intriguing, many of the characters even more so. Some real life tennis characters are in the book, and the ending was very satisfactory. So author Paul Rutherford got some of it right in The Bahama Triangle. It was an almost good enough book.
