I’ve just started the bread baking for this season, which means I’m already deep in that Christmas Pon Farr I’ve talked about. And the reason for starting the bread baking is that Grandson Kyle is flying in tomorrow from DC to go to the Irish Tenors concert with us tomorrow night. Whooo! Hooo!
We’ll pick him up at 8 a m, come home and bake the first batch. And I’m sure we’ll eat a loaf while it’s still warm – have several wonderful butters to try – a Danish and an Irish. Not sure what we’ll do the rest of the day – hopefully, he’ll be in the mood to help get the tree up! And maybe put the Star Trek ornaments in place. Maybe shopping. There’s a nearly finished Christmas jigsaw puzzle that can be worked on.
At 5:30, we’re having dinner at Suzie Wong’s Asian Eats up the street – just terrific! And at 8 p m at the Aronoff, we’ll be in the second row of the first balcony (great sound up there), listening to those wonderful tenors. Sunday morning, I’ve promised Kyle one of his favorites – Irish oatmeal – since we won’t have time for a great brunch out before we have to get him back to the airport.
So one of my best Christmas presents in arriving first thing in the morning. That absolutely makes it a great weekend!
