I didn’t check the New York Times home page after Dream Group finished up last night. Just tucked myself in and went to sleep. I remember making a decision that I just didn’t want any more news, wanted to take my learnings from working with my dreams off to dreamland, and didn’t want the left-brained world back in my brain until morning.
So it was a shock to be greeted by the news of Osama bin Laden’s death, and the wonderful strong and healing speech President Obama gave late Sunday evening. I had spent a lot of Sunday listening to video of his speech at the White House Correspondents annual dinner – very funny, very creative, right on target. He was at his relaxed best, and then kicked back and listened with relish to Seth Myer from Saturday Night Live give the keynote.
Amazing that he toured that desolation in Alabama on Friday and then gave that relaxed and funny speech (including a long-form joke) to a fairly tough audience on Saturday night – all the while he had Pakistan on his mind.
Now we know what he meant when he said that he didn’t have time for this silliness as he released his long-form birth certificate on Wednesday.
