Mark Morford Hits the Mark – As Usual

November 16, 2011 By pgarry

The San Francisco Chronicle has an outrageous, hysterically funny columnist, who pulls everything together – spirituality, cultural commentary, yoga, sexuality/our bodies, and the general insanity of the groupthink we are all immersed in.

Today’s piece is about our health, our obesity, our unwillingness to get off the couch, and how health experts and scientists have now taken to begging us to do so, promising rich rewards for a few minutes of just walking around every day. And he mentions our Puritan society, which carries the subtext that bodies are bad and need to be punished / controlled, and our brains are the most important things about us.

As you know if you check out this blog, that’s another way of saying what I say. So I agreed with Mark before I even knew he existed. I’ve added a link to today’s column, so you can have your brain reeling from all the connections he makes in this fairly short piece, just like mine is.

and thanks to good friend Kathleen for pointing Mark’s writing out to me several years ago.
