So many feelings, thoughts, ideas….
We now have a more relaxed and confident president – so the play will now unwind even more effortlessly. My feeling / perception is that the rancor is subsiding. Not because folk’s ideas have changed, but because (1) their energy has ebbed and (2) rancor just hasn’t worked as an effective legislative strategy.
Michelle is also having a better time, which means we will all have a better time. Can’t wait to see what her new initiatives are. And I hope the Obamas let us see and spend more time with their children.
Washington is such a beautiful city. And the uses of ritual and tradition are many, not least the continuity and comfort they provide.
