My backyard keeps me so entertained! There are still a lot of deer in the yard and woods, even thought mating season is well over. A couple of does and a yearling fawn, with heavy winter coats have stuck around.
And 3 to 5 stags are still wandering through. One of them, a former 12-pointer, has lost his antlers. Two young guys – 6 to 8 pointers with small racks, are still tangling antlers with each other. And one of these days soon, those antlers will come sliding off. There are still a couple of 10 pointers, occasionally getting tangled up in the woods. Often, they lose those antlers one at a time, so they are lopsided and uncomfortable for a while.
Always something to see, whenever I look out a window or a door around here.
